first rule of thumb...if it's too good to be true...then more than likely...it is....there is no escape to debt...u owe...u pay...i wouldn't trust any website that says they can do away with debt completely...there's a lot of FREE debt consolidation services out there....don't ever trust anyone that says they can do it for you for a price...

this one sounds fishy to me...it's easy to create a website and have it hosted...anyone can do that and there's no law to prohibit them from doing watever....there's loopholes everywhere....always read the fine print...and again...let me reiterate...

IF IT'S TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE.....IT'S TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE....

LOL @ Txhav! Well, I've known you for a long time now ...and I trust your judgment.

This agency called the BF and though the BF was quite happy about getting a lower interest rate on his credit card, I told him that if they don't have an office in MN, I wouldn't have anything to do with them. If he wants to consolidate, he should just find a place in MN and go and meet w/ them. Course, I also recommended other options for him as well (open up a loan with a smaller interest rate to pay off the credit card that way his payments don't flunctuate every month nor will his interest go up). I looked up this agency in BBB and they rated this place an F. Just based on that alone, I'm going to tell the BF "NO."

Thanks Txhav! : )

Well, that's odd. The address listed in the website says they're in California? And yes, BF did mention a $900 that they wanted from him.

We'll just have to figure out his credit card by ourselves. Thanks again Txhav.

they want 900 bucks?...are u guys nuts?...ha...give me the 900 bucks and i too can lower ur payments....ha ha....

most of the time...u can call the credit company urself and work something out without a debt consolidation company...and i'm certain there are FREE services out there...i've never had to deal with any of those and so i don't know....but...there are non-profit organizations out there that does this kind of services....for FREE...u just have to look....

and umm....u could just file for bankruptcy if the amount is too great...ha ha....just kidding....work it out with the credit card company....if u tell them...sorry i ain't got the money...this is all i got....they'll take all that u have...and be done with them....or umm....there is another alternative....

Well, the BF's got only one credit card so therefore I wouldn't suggest for him to file bankruptcy. No way. He did contact them to lower the interest rate and they did for 6 months or so but now it's back up to the normal rate. I think what we're going to do is just apply for a loan for him from a credit union and see if he can get a lower interest rate. Right now his monthly payments keep flunctuating and sooner or later, his APR will go up again. So a fixed rate loan is a good idea. I did that for myself and it's helped TREMENDOUSLY. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Thanks Txhav.
